MAUREEN’S SCHOOL OF DANCE DRESS CODE 
On the first class in September, parents should attend a 10 minute meeting so that your child's teacher can explain class procedures and our dress code
which should be followed by their 2nd lesson.
The first 10 minutes of each class Miss Angie, Miss Dana, Miss Lawanda, Miss Roz and Miss Tori will have a meeting.
The last 10 minutes of each class Miss Flavia, Miss Katy, Miss Lauren, Miss Mary Ann and Miss Michelle will have a meeting.

Ballet, Tap & Acrobatics Combination Class 				         
                Girls - Dancewear - Any color, any style (Leotards, Bikertards, 2-piece sets)	         	    Boys - Work-out wear	 
	 No jazz pants (teacher must see knees)
                Tights - Footed (any color, any style) or socks - No bare feet                     
                Ballet Shoes - White Bloch Full Sole (leather) Ballet Shoes with elastic strap sewn in                     Boys - Black Bloch Ballet Shoes
                		 (No ‘Isotoner’-like bedroom slippers or cheap vinyl ballet shoes)
                Tap Shoes - Black Bloch Student (patent leather) with elastic tap ties instead of ribbons                Boys - Black Bloch Tap Flex Shoes
                Skirts (optional) - Pull-on style (preferred for the young ones) or the wrap-around style, but cannot hang below the knees
                Hair must be tied back away from your face and not hit your eyes

Ballet (only) Class                                                                                                                                               
                Girls - Leotard - Black solid color only					    Boys - White T-Shirt & Black pants	
                                NO BRAS OR STRAPS SHOULD SHOW! 
                               (if needed, we recommend a black or tan crop top can be worn under the leotard)
                Tights - Pink Footed, Adaptatoe or Convertible with the foot covered                     		    Boys - Black Bloch Ballet Shoes
                Ballet Shoes - Pink Bloch Split-Sole (leather or canvas)  
		with 2 elastic straps sewn in criss-crossed                                  
                Ballet Skirts (optional) - Solid black or solid pink and sheer - cannot hang below the knees
                Hair must be worn in a bun and not hit your eyes

Lyrical/Modern Class                                                                                                                                         
                Girls - Leotard (Same as in Ballet Class)                                                                                             Boys - White T-Shirt & Black pants 
                Tights - Pink Adaptatoe or Convertible with the foot uncovered                                                                                    
                Lyrical Shoes - Tan Bloch Foot Thongs or Dance Paws                                                                   Boys - Shoes same
                Hair must be worn in a bun and not hit your eyes
                
Liturgical Class                                                                                                                    
                Girls - Leotard Recommended                                                                                                             Boys - White T-Shirt & Black pants
                Tights - Adaptatoe or Convertible                                                                                    
                Lyrical Shoes - Tan Bloch Foot Thongs or Dance Paws                                                                   Boys-Shoes same

Tap (Only) Class                                                                                           
                Girls - Dancewear - Any color, any style (Leotards, Bikertards, 2-Piece Sets)                                  Boys-Work-out wear 
	      Crop pants (optional) - recommended
                Tights or Socks - Recommended                                                                                      
                Tap Shoes - Black Bloch Tap Flex (tie up)                                                                                         Boys-Shoes same 
                Hair must be tied back away from your face and not hit your eyes

Jazz Class and Musical Theater Class                                                                                                   
                Girls - Dancewear - Any color, any style (Leotards, Bikertards, 2-piece sets)                                  Boys-Work-out wear
                Tights or Black Jazz Pants (optional) - recommended (proper fit is important-
                             they must stay up and be tight from the waist to the knee and then flare to the ankle 
                             without touching the floor)
                Knee pads (optional) - To protect your knees
                Jazz Shoes - Black Bloch Split-Sole Elasta-Booties (slip on) or Ultra Flex (tie-up)                         Boys-Shoes same
                Hair must be tied back away from your face and not hit your eyes

Hip Hop Class 
                Girls & Boys - Street wear-no jeans or khakis! 
                Black Jazz Pants (optional) - recommended (proper fit is important - they must stay up and be tight from the waist to the knee
                            and then flare to the ankle without touching the floor)
                Knee pads (optional) - To protect your knees
                Hip Hop Shoes - Black Bloch Low-Top Dance Sneakers
                Hair must be tied back away from your face and not hit your eyes

 
NO BIG SHIRTS ARE TO BE WORN OVER DANCEWEAR IN ANY CLASS.


JEWELRY (esp. earrings, necklaces & bracelets) SHOULD NOT BE WORN IN CLASS FOR SAFETY REASONS 


STREET CLOTHES ARE ONLY ALLOWED IN ALL HIP HOP CLASSES & ADULT TAP CLASS.
